I've never been terribly successful catching walleye in the past. That is likely due to the majority of my trolling having been with tackle of the Len Thompson variety (didn't really have anybody to learn other techniques from). I decided to start trying for walleye a bit more this year and have had some success. I had visited Crooked Lake twice this month and have caught 3 decent ones (2 at 19.5" and one at 19") while using one of those > shaped bottom bouncers with a spinner rig. It was also pretty good for catching pike as well. I've recently been in Wholesale Sports in Regina and Winnipeg as well as Cabelas in Winnipeg, and I couldn't help but notice they did not have this style of bottom bouncer in stock. In fact I've only been able to find them at some Canadian Tire stores. This got me thinking that they are either a really hot seller, or the more advanced fishers are using some other type of setup instead. Which is it?
