Can't argue against your science Remko, but I gave it a whirl this weekend. Being I am on the heavier side of 200lbs, was drinking, and smoking, I slapped on both patches Saturday morning. Here is the verdict: I think it actually helped. When I did notice the skeeters approach me, I waited to see what they would do (as in sat still not trying to scare them off as one normally would). Most of them did just fly away, others landed and then took off with out biting. I think I only slapped three biting. Not bad for a Saturday on the water. The fine print, I would not classify the number of mosquitos as high for where I was. So testing them in a higher mosquito populated area would be beneficial. Like I said, you know your bugs Remko, but I did the field test. Placebo? Maybe so, but had to give it a try. Free was a good price. Almost forgot, one lake I was at had a whack load of horse flys and I think deer flies (or some other bite-y looking flies). They never once landed on me which I find quite interesting. I may try and scam another sample to test up at Whiteswan/Whelan. Canada Day 2008 on that beach was the only time I would ever say I have been swarmed by horseflies.
