Hello there gentlemen, I am currently in the position to purchase a cabin and was looking at a few up at east trout. The bite up there seems to have been slow the last few years and was wondering if that has been the norm for decades past? It is such a nice part of the province and the lakes are clean and clear but the fishing at the two has always been slow to my knowledge, even the old timers up there have said fishing in years past has been good but never great? It seems like a great place to have a cabin for a fisherman as all the species I like to catch are present (lakers, walleye, perch, pike....) but I would hate to buy something just for my fishing getaway and have lousy fishing regularly. Maybe some of you guys with cabins up there or knowledge can PM me or something and let me know that once I dial in the lake it can actually be quite productive. Cabins these days are ridiculously over priced and take forever to sell so I am paranoid of buying one and having to put it right back on the market if it doesn't work out.
Thanks for any feedback
