Does anyone use pike, perch or walleye heads in soup? Recipes? Thanks alll
As far as I know, at least everyone I know who makes it uses sucker heads. Not sure why they don't use pike or walleye.
So does anyone have a recipe? I'm up to try.
Only the 122,000 on Google...
Former father-in-law simmered pike heads in milk. One of the most disgusting things I have ever seen or smelled! He also liked lutefisk, another one of the horrors of Norwegian cuisine.
I was meaning one someone had tried and can vouch for
Well if you have to go through recipes on the internet at least you'll have the reviews and how many stars to go by. I looked on the cheftalk forum and all it said was make sure there are no scales or it will turn it grey. Good luck and bon appetit!
I gave a friend trout heads once because he wanted to try it and he said it wasn't especially good. I think of fish heads as crayfish bait. Fish soup yes, fishhead soup no. I know that chefs make stock with them but still... #that'llbetheday
If you Like a seafood and fish! You should try this easy and delicious fish soup. Is is simply and tasty. I prefer to use salmon as my fish. Lushest fresh salmon that is high in fat and is so loved for it’s melt-in-your-mouth texture just brings so much flavor to the broth as well.
