As many of you have now heard, our friend (and co-creator of Fishing Saskatchewan), Steve Bunka recently suffered a stroke. We all wish Steve a quick recovery and want to see him out on the water soon, but, in the meantime, we would like to raise public awareness to the issue of heart health.
Fishing Saskatchewan has decided to run a GoFundMe campaign to help raise research funds for the Saskatchewan Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Anyone that donates a minimum of $25 to this campaign will be entered to win a 2 night stay in a cabin for four people INCLUDING 8 rounds of golf (with cart). This prize package is courtesy of our friends at Candle Lake Golf Resort
The Campaign will run until July 24, 2016.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization that leads in eliminating heart disease and stroke and reducing their impact for Canadians. The Foundation achieves this through the advancement of research and its application, the promotion of healthy living and advocacy at the provincial and national level. In order to continue to make important steps forward in the fight against heart disease and stroke, the Foundation operates various fundraising initiatives and programs.
Research is a key element in the fight against heart disease and stroke, and is one of our biggest investments. This year alone, more than $1 million has been invested in research projects, including diverse projects right here at the University of Saskatchewan. The Heart and Stroke Foundation is a leading funder of heart and stroke research, here in Saskatchewan and across the country.
