The Cow tunnel comes under the road, its fenced off from the highway but if you fish from the shore there, some point during the day you might have to defend your spot against a few dozen cattle. The perch/walleye bite is hot right now, esp. in the rivers (It feels realll good to say this, I haven't been able to for awhile.) Jigging with leeches/crawlers in 12-24 ft of water is usually your best bet for walleye. For perch, if you know where Camp Monohan is on the south side of the lake is usually really good, same with the Blue Church which is a couple hundred yards east of Monohan. If you want pike you could try the spillway at the end of Katepwa, usually one or two decent sized fish in there, but once you catch them that's it. The past 2 weeks My buddy caught a 1-1 1/2lb perch off echo and I caught a 1lb under the bridge by Kevin's Marine. Biggest I seen out of these lakes come during the winter. Biggest walleye taken out of these lakes was 13lbs and change, it was caught on Katepwa (I dont know where) during the walleye cup 4 years back. I dont know the biggest pike but my personal best is 22lbs 4oz caught off the Valley Center dock a couple years back. If you have any questions about these lakes dont hesitate to ask, I'm not saying I have the best advice but more than likely I fish these lakes alot more than anyone else on here. Going out this afternoon to try to hit in to some decent walleye.
