Hey, hoping someone can give me a tip on an area more around west central Saskatchewan, looking for a creek or river outlet that people have spotted schools of spawning suckers. If anyone could help me out it would be much appreciated.
Sorry, no advice from us, but you might enjoy this video, especially the first minute or so.
Those are definitely the type of creeks I'm hoping to find! Monster bait, and they make for great fish cakes (burgers)
I know of a creek that looks exactly like this one near Allan. If you would like directions let me know, I will try to find if it has suckers once the ice is off. I found it when I was duck hunting in the fall. I wouldn't mind going out there to net about 10 of these guys and just freeze them in chunks or whole. I can guarantee me that will get me at least a week in the doghouse but hey the tug is the drug right??
I believe in SK you have to apply for the dip netting license for suckers - it's cheap and I'm pretty sure they tell you what area to focus in. You can likely catch quite a few on rod and reel with worms for bait in those creeks as well.
